Your zz plant may get brown stems or black spots if it is exposed to too much direct sunlight.

Humidity

You should never place your zz plant near places that experience drafts like open windows or air vents.

Watering

Remember, a zz plant is a succulent, meaning they retain a lot of water. Be careful not to overwater your plant and allow the soil to dry out before watering. Generally, this will be every 2–3 weeks. You may see mushy brown stalks and yellowing leaves if your plant’s roots get overly saturated.
